Welcome to Catholic Mission’s World Mission Month School Resource for 2016.
This year the resource shares the story of children in Cambodia who cannot go to school because their families live in poverty. Reaching out to these children is one way in this Year of Mercy, to live out Pope Francis’ call to be the hands of mercy.
These materials provide an opportunity for students to engage with the real-life stories of children, their families and local missionaries all working together to build healthy communities who are able to live with dignity and opportunity.
This resource is designed to encourage students to deepen their understanding about issues of mission and justice. Each of us is invited to be involved in the work of global mission and share the loving grace of God with all. The materials this year were written by students from the Australian Young Christian Students movement. They have included a way of looking at the world known as the Review of Life which has three main sections: See, Judge and Act. Visit their website to find out more www.aycs.org.au.
The theme of this year’s resource is:
‘Just as you did it to one of the least of these… you did it to me’
The powerful and inspirational DVD, the web based interactive teaching and learning resources, and the insightful stories about the work of Sister Eulie and her community will not only help educate students, but also inspire them to reach out to children in desperate need.
We invite you to get involved with World Mission Month by using these activities, and don't forget to click-on our link to national Anti-Poverty Week (16-22 October 2016).
